What is Remote Area Surcharge?

Remote Area Surcharge is an additional fee (on top of the base shipping cost), imposed by shipping carriers for delivering packages to locations that are geographically isolated, distant, less accessible, or difficult to serve. In international shipping, not all destinations are easily reachable, and carriers often encounter extra costs and complexities when transporting goods to remote or less accessible areas.

How much is the Remote Area Surcharge?

Shipments delivered to remote and less accessible locations listed in the Remote Area List will be subject to the fee per tier.

  • Tier A: not applicable

  • Tier B: IDR 295,000 per shipment or IDR 5,000 per kg, whichever is greater

  • Tier C: IDR 384,000 per shipment or IDR 7,000 per kg, whichever is greater

Note: Remote Area Surcharge are subject to Fuel Surcharge and VAT
